Funded by GOP "Proud Boys Protest" Organizer
Cervera's campaign accepted $500 from Nelson Diaz on March 30, 2026. The Miami Herald identified Diaz as the primary contact for the infamous 2018 Miami protest attended by Proud Boys member Enrique Tarrio.

The Miami Herald reported that Diaz “apologized on Saturday for his ‘unbecoming’ behavior during Wednesday’s rally and denounced the extremists in attendance.”
The 2022 judicial campaign
Family's campaign criticized for hiring right-wing anti-LGBTQ radical
Cervera's spouse's failed 2022 judicial campaign was highly criticized for hiring Anthony Verdugo Jr., founder and executive director of Miami-based Christian Family Coalition Florida. Florida Bulldog described Verdugo as a “right-wing extremist.”
The campaign paid $6,668 to Verdugo's political consulting company for “church visits and radio appearances” and $533.90 to Christian Family Coalition for advertising, according to Florida Bulldog.
“Verdugo and his coalition represent the grassroots components of the Florida GOP's culture war against abortion and LGBTQ persons.”— Florida Bulldog, Aug. 20, 2022
The connection continued into 2026: Cervera's own School Board campaign reported a $250 contribution from Winning Strategies on March 19. Florida corporate records identify Anthony Verdugo Jr. as the company's officer.
